Don't currently own one. A friend has had one for about 6yrs. Just for kicks he shot IDPA matches with it one year. Zero malfunctions, and he didn't give up much to the full size 1911s. If I were buying another 3" 1911, the Ultra Carry would be the one!

Mine is the crat's azz. Stainless in 40 S&W. It won't outshoot my Eclipse or Pro Tactical but it's not lagging far behind. ;)

I bought mine used about 8 years ago.  It's my carry pistol, and I absolutely love it.  Accurate, reliable, and comfortable to carry.  So far I've run hard ball, semi-wad cutters, and hollow points with zero malfunctions.

I have an Eclipse II .  A good friend and neighbor has an Ultra Carry II and several others.  We shoot them all at least once a month.  They are all FANTASTIC guns.  I have a Colt Gold Cup that I have completely reworked for Bullseye and later IDPA. It is / was the most accurate gun I own.  The Kimbers all shoot right with it for about 1/3 the investment.

If you are going to purchase a 1911, buy a Kimber you will never regret it !

It is my primary carry gun and has been for 8 yrs. It has never failed, is accurate, looks good, snag proof finish, etc. Until recently it was the most expensive gun I ever bought but I've never regretted it.

I have 2 of them, an Ultra CDP and an Ultra CDP II.  They are my primary and back up carry guns.  Zero malfunctions through several thousand rounds.   Mostly hardball for practice and hollow point defensive for carry, but I do shoot defensive loads when I finish up a practice session.  The only change I made was to swap out sights to XS big dot tritiums.  And I only run Kimber factory magazines as I find them to be very reliable.

I also carry with the Kimber mag but my spare mags are 8rd Chip McCormick Power mags. They are dead-on reliable, too.
