new here, from over at cast boolit forum and others. excellent site, so far. having been through the gauntlet with ruger quality of late, have ruger ss 5.5 bisley i'm contemplating a rebarrel on, after having had a replacement installed by ruger, with the usual result. looking for a very high quality stainless barrel, twist up for discussion, but one that would be ideal-in terms of lands/groove spec/depth for cast bullets in the 260/300 range and straight from one end to the other-after installation. any actual time with a barrel or qualified references for a source for barrel and twist would be greatly appreciated? want to stick with stainless, as the base frame, etc already there. barrel no. 2 has tight cone at frame, waistline in center of bore and a bit choked down at the muzzle. cylinders are reamed .4525, so good there and don't want to open them up too much further by firelapping. can/could hand lap at the breech, but still stuck with the coke bottle bore.
again, any direction/suggestions/quality installers appreciated.
