Royal Danish Arsenal Museum Artillery
« on: September 10, 2009, 04:02:44 AM »
"Out of the blue" a gent who is a member of NSSA emailed me and asked if I'd like to have a CD he made from photos he took on a trip to Denmark.  He'd seen some of my posts on the NSSA arty board and knew I was interested in foreign artillery as well as domestic.  So of course I accepted his offer.  I got his permission to share it, so here 'tis, in my usual slideshow format.  There are 42 photos in all, and sometimes the slideshow, when first loaded, stops short of showing them all, for unknown reasons.  If that happens, tune in again a few hours later and it will probably be warmed up by then.

PS, there are some fantastic ancient small arms too but those are on a separate slideshow so we can keep it "clean" for this board.  If any of the moderators tells me I can, I will post link to that one also.

Dunno Gary, could be.

Here's one that I think Richard will enjoy.  I'd kinda like to have one myself!  Almost looks like a steel repro, huh!  Wish I could read the sign.

Cannonmn,

I'm sure you've already thanked the man from the N-SSA forum for providing you with the photos, so I'll just thank you for sharing them with us; great post!
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

The circular helix rack with cannon balls--was that the new Ronco Cannon ball-o-matic?

I have a feeling it goes inside a hot shot furnace, but no way to know for sure.
