The standard brass bead front sight measures about .095". The fiber optic front sight light pipe measures about .065". but the outer ring that holds it adds to the diameter, and also equals a total of about .095". At first glance, then, the fiber optic sight seems to present a smaller aiming point. However, an approximately equal amount of the target is obscured by both, due to the ring that holds the light pipe. FA blade front sights are .125" wide.
