Disolve This Union-Secession: Get Involved
« on: September 23, 2009, 05:25:29 PM »
The secession movement is gaining interest and participants from all over the country. This union needs to be disolved. If your interested, this web site is a good start. Your state may have a specific organization already in place. Good reading on the subject of secession and a good way to get connected.

Seems a bit over-engineered to me. What I'd like to see is for the states to band together to form a new federal government, no longer supporting the old one.

Thats called a revolution. Although anything is better than what we have, revolution is significantly less likely than secession. Secession is legal and the focus is at a state level. If a state legislature wanted to seceed, they could and it would be legal. A revolution would require an over throw. Not going to happen.

While I do agree it is a legal thing for a state to do we all know how that turned out the last time some states tried it. It was a rather bloody and unsuccessful attempt at best.

I think if it's tried again it will again be rather bloody whether more successful or not only time would tell.

If a state was sucessful at leaving. They would simply surround it and stave them out. No commerse in or out. All roads closed in and out.
Over in a few weeks.
It would take a large section of the country leaving as one to make it. Within that section would have to be all the nesessary infrastructure to support the population. their would be no trade from any of the world it would not be allowed. The reason, there would be no military to force trade. MHO

Alaska being Geographically separated from the rest of the US would stand a better chance than any other state.  We currently have dealings with Canada, with whom we share a huge border.  We deal with Korea, Japan, China, Russia, and all around the Pacific rim.  We sell them raw materials, and we get manufactured goods, and produce, in return.

We could live without the rest of the US.  While they might blockade our ports, they would have a hard time isolating us from Canada.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Quite a high percentage of the states have sea ports and still more have ports accessible via rivers from the oceans. ALL have airports. All have internal road systems and internal trucking operations. While things might be higher as in Alaska as a result I don't think any state would be starved out if they dropped out. I'm sure there are plenty of countries out there that would be falling all over them selves to trade with the "new country states".

Is it a good or bad thing if the US breaks up? Bad I think but not as bad in my opinion as us continuing down the path we're on at this time. Best in my opinion would be to dump the vast majority of folks in all three branches of government and replace them with folks more interested in this country than their rich and super rich masters and get back to running the country by the US Constitution. Sadly I think the only path to make that happen is to first dissolve the union then put it back together again.

We need to throw all the sorry political hacks out of DC at election time.  They have driven this country into the ground.  Problem is that the folks who whine about Washington politics see nothing wrong with their    pet political hack:  They keep on sending the scumbag back to DC.

I'm not suggesting that the constitution be discarded. I'm simply suggesting that the federal government be discarded and replaced with another one. Move the capitol to another place. Hold elections that populate the new congress and the new senate and the new executive.

Best way to perform a rather painless revolution and replace fatcats in government is to change the money siphon into career government.  Get rid of lobbiest and standardize election/contrib money and time of elections. term limits might be useful.

..TM7

I promise you this will never happen. We are never going to revolutionize our political system through elections or from within. The power structure is already established and that power structure is never going to relinquish control. Legislation will never remedy the power structure control because the the majority of legislators are under the influence of the power structure. New legislators running for office under a different structure can almost never win because they are simply out-$$ed,. The only hope is secession. States like Alaska and Texas could go it alone or Texas could partner with surrounding states. Or it could be a chain reaction. If Texas seceded, Louisiana, Arkansas, New MX, Oklahoma could follow into the same confederacy.

This is all totally doable, legal and the only real hope this country has at saving it heritage and constitution. All it will take is one state to go and more are likely to follow.

The problem is that the country is very polarized.  Republicans and Democrats out here in hinterland refuse to hold their representatives and senators feet to the fire; especially if the perp is from their political party.  Republicans believe that their Republican perps in DC are doing a wonderful job.  Democrats think that their Democrat perps are doing a wonderful job.  The Republican ran congress took lobbying to an advanced art form.  The Democrats have improved on that art form.

Nothing is ever going to change until we send all new blood to Washington, DC.

I think the best “demonstration” would be secession. All the demonstrations like the tea baggers, are an example of the pendulum swinging in the opposite direction of how they swung during the last presidential cycle. Its feast or famine in this country. Left wing one cycle Right wing the next. We are not suppose to have this here. The left has become some bazaar mix of communism, socialism and Marxism. The far right has become the neocon movement. There really is little in the middle. The middle which use to make up the majority of America was about the constitution. We no longer argue laws, legislation & politics based on the constitution with rare exception. And even then it’s usually some perversion of it like the trash that comes out of the ACLU, Hollywood crowd or left wing media. Last night I was flipping through the channels and there was Mike Moore on Larry King Live. Mike Moore cited the Bill Of Rights and said Health Care and jobs are listed in the BOR. The guy is a complete liar and the king of live talk shows never calls him out on it.

We are ruined and the only fix is to start dissolving the Union. Then, we have a chance to get our country back or some smaller geographical form of it. Washington is totally out of control and the perversion of our constitution is already complete.

Cabin ..problem is that may be just what they want; i.e. the eventual breakup the country and the final dispersement of its resources and assets; and final defeat of people's unity. Better to meet these forces head on...they are very exposed nowadays and discernible....and they're not very smart.

..TM7

But they are smarter than most SHEEPLE across the country.
I agree with Cabin, the only way is for a few large freedom loving states to lead the way.

We are divided mentally anyway. We may as well be so physically

Its an interesting concept.

Texas, Alaska, California are fully capable. They have a real economy, natural resources (including oil) and major unobstructed sea & air ports. If Texas went, bordering states such as Oklahoma, N. Mexico, Arkansas & potentially Louisiana could follow into its confederacy. California's confederacy could later be joined by Oregon and Washington State. The problem with California is the lack of independence.

New Hampshire & Vermont both have a strong independence movement. Although these states don’t have oil, they are largely low population agricultural and rural.

Less likely but Midwestern states such as Wisconsin & Minnesota although lack oil & strong independence, they have a significant agricultural base and they have free access to the St. Lawrence Seaway via the great lakes. Pennsylvania can fit into this but the strong influence of Philadelphia and Harrisburg make them unlikely. If you could detach Philadelphia from PA, it’s a great state with strong independence and sea port access both via the great lakes to the north and the Delaware river in the south east.

Just a few examples.

We should keep the union and kick out those states that want to keep rolling down this socialist path.
Why should we let such scum run us off? I say we give them the boot then get about the business of deporting all the liberals andthe dead beats that support them.
