Morning guys,
 I bought a Marbles machete the other day and have been seeing them on EBay and was intrigued. Its basically a Collins copy, with a wood handle and a brightly painted orange blade for safety. No lanyard hole though..

I don't have it in hand yet, so cannot comment further. Just wondered if anyone here had one or used one and what they thought.

They look standard enough.  Since they're probably made in China, like a lot of Marble's stuff, it'll depend on what steel is being used.

I had one of those South American machetes  They seem to work fine. I gave it to a nephew  for his kit and got a British issue parang  a little more nose heavy but a better all round tool IMHO and more compact. I think you would have bee better served with a US military on from Onterio. Bottom like they like a Mossberg 500 not a real looker but works everytime.

I see these on EBay from  over a HUNDRED bucks to less then ten... WHY the variance????

 I received this machete yesterday. Seems nice, its was almost razor sharp. (Center section had 6" dull area) I fixed the edge and headed outside and proceeded to trim the limbs hanging over the fence with ease!! as I mentioned, its basically a Collins design, so no surprise it works as it should.

SO, one time use, seems like its going to work very well... even better then my cheap Cold Steel, but its also sharper...

BTW, I also picked up a TRAMONTINA BRASIL MACHETE off EBay, $10 bucks!!!  Lord knows, I NEEDED another..... ::) ::) ::)

have several different machetes, the tramontina with the 22 inch blade is my favorite. sings thru brush and small limbs. best 8 dollars ever spent.

I have the Tramotina also about 7 years old now and it is a work horse. I took the up sweep out of the point and rounded it down. Easier to sheath that way. Mine gets sharp and stays sharp. Sliced watermelons at the last biker party like good butcher knife.   I think I payed 8 dollars for mine when I got it and would pay 10 for another to save back. Carried it on the fourwheeler with the loper shears and it really cleans up shooting lanes.

Probably a good thing you bought that Marble's when you did.  They filed chapter 11 bankruptcy( the cutlery division, not the gun sight related division) and absolutely no one is interested in picking them up.

Got my machete from Wal-mart.   May not be as good as some you guys have but it does the job for me........................As Long as I keep it sharp.   :)

I got myself a heavy Machete at the flea market for 6$. It's say made in japan but it's probably made in China and so far it has  cut, chop, slash, and  smash just about anything i have  put in front of it. Used it to cut the legs off a hard wool table so it's good.
