I like to use the Warne Maxima, a little more expensive than some but real good quality.

    Most common- Weaver 92A
    Best- SSK T'SOB

The Weaver is what's used by most and does a good job.  The T'SOB is a custom job and requires drilling and tapping your barrel.  It uses six mounting screws instead of the factory standard four.  Three guesses as to what T'SOB stands for. And...it is.

Depends on the cartridge you are going to shoot from the 10 incher...

I have a 445 Super Mag and I use just the 4-screw base and then good quality rings...

The T'SOB probably is one of the top in quality and durability, but more money then is required unless you have something that has more recoil than my 445 SM loaded with a power house load using the Lyman 429650 (325+ grains).  Recoil is somewhat noticable!!!  And, I have never sheered a screw off in the barrel...

Good-luck...BCB

the T'SOB is not an option if it requires drilling of the barrel. i checked out the Warne products, they look good and i like the idea of having the base and rings from the same manufacturer.

i will be using a .44mag 10" barrel

but i still have time to see what  else is out there.
