That's good news Bob. I see the 6.5 JDJ you brought here to my house for me to play with isn't on the list. I was kinda hoping it or the .257 JDJ would be. I believe the other one we shot here was in .357 Magnum if I recall correctly. Both were quite nice shooting and very pleasant recoil wise.

Is the production grip same as that prototype? I see the fore end is much improved from the prototype but then you promised it would be.

Thanks Graybeard.

For now I have stayed away from propriety cartridges.  At some point JD may want to offer them so I will leave it to him to decide.  Also, the offered cartridges are just a starting point.  We will add more as time goes by and what we add will be based on what we get the most requests for.

We did change the forend and also offered a blank forend so folks could shape their own the way they want them.  I polled a lot of people and I don’t think any two wanted the same shape.

Yup kinda hard to please folks on cosmetic features such as the fore end. For those that look on their guns as works of art to be looked at it matters big time I guess. I tend to look at them more as tools. The one you are offering looks fine for my tastes and I could have lived with the prototype really but have to say that the new one is more cosmetically pleasing to the eye.

I heard rumor of a rifle version of the single shot pistol.  I know this is a handgun forum; I'm a carbine guy.  Any plans for a rifle stock?

I'd love a 21" .375 barrel rechambered to .378 GNR.

I don't see any sort of brake as an option. Mr Baker, any chance of adding that? I'd guess it may be popular on the rifle calibers. I'm in South Africa, so I'm not sure I'll ever get to own one of these.  :'(

They were considering muzzle brakes, but maybe they just decided it was something you could always add yourself later.

This is exciting news. Bob, will the iron sights be made available with the 10" barrel? I also noticed that micarta is not being offered as an option...perhaps in the future??

EdK, I'm at a loss as to what your concern is with the 1 in 12" twist for the .375 Win.  That is the standard twist used in every reference I have found and we have tested it and it works well.

free4ever, the iorn sights will be available on the 7 BR barrels and the .357 barrels as an option.  At this time only the wood will be available for grips and forends.

WL44, I am sure at some point we will add a muzzle brake but at this time we haven't settled on a particular one.

Well Bob, my apologies if my post came across like "those guys at FA must have rocks in their head". I don't have the experience that you folks do however it was my understanding that 1:12" was only necessary for 300-350gr spitzers in the 375 H&H. While I know a lot of 375 Win barrels are 1:12", I've always wondered whether that is because 1:12" is the most commonly stocked blank. The 375 Win is more commonly loaded with 225-275 grain flat nose bullets like the 38-55 and it uses a twist of 1:18" and is very cast bullet friendly. Now I know you didn't go and choose that twist to save a few pennies and that is why I offered up that I might be in need of a little education.

EdK: FA model 83 454 1-24" twist owner  ;)

No problem EdK, it didn't come across that way to me, I just didn't understand what the concern was.  I have used a variety of bullet weights in the .375 Win barrel with no problems.  Most of my shooting though was with a 225 grain and it grouped well.

I haven't used any cast bullets so can't give any input on that.
