Nice!!

I can answer your two questioned cartridges..

1) The 45ACP case is a Winchester or actually a Western Cartridge Company The other "W" is Winchester Western. It was loaded to mill spec in 1977.

2) The other is either a 7.65 Tokarev or a less powerful 30 Mauser.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7.62x25mm_Tokarev

Your 38/40 may say that on its base head stamp.. but she sure looks like a 44/40 in bullet diameter!! Mike it up and see.

I haven't found a way to display mine. I don't want to ruin them. I have thought of a plexiglass stand with counter sunk holes. Bullets held in with hot melt glue. I don't know,. I have such a large amount to display... I'll do it one day.

I too have to figure a better way.
I do not want to do anything permanent
since I hope it will grow
and I want to be able to read the head stamp.
I sure get tired of setting back up every time
the shelf gets bumped and they think they are Dominos >:(

Thanks for filling me in on the questions
and I will mike out the 38-40

I am up to 60 now.
I will have to update my list and post it.
Could use a bullet for the empty cases,
8MM, 17cal, 44cal and 32auto.

PS, the lead ingots help steady the shelf if it gets bumped.
Still have to pick them up once in a while but not as often.

I picked up a couple more ;D
The 20 MM canon dwarfs the new
375 Rem mag which is a BAD BOY cartridge.
I put a 7MM Rem Mag next to it for comparison.
The 7MM was stuffed with a 168gr Berger VLD
so it is super long for that round.

Still looking :)

That would be a 7.62x25mm Tokarev round.  You can tell be the 4 indents or 'crimpdents' as I call them - they hold the bullet in place.  This was a Comm-bloc technique initiated by the Soviets.  The 7.65mm Parabellum/Luger was loaded only for the Luger pistol and the 'crimpdent' technique was never used by the Germans or Swiss..  JMTCW.

Nice collection.

If you just go redneck on them there bullets you won't have to pick them up ( GLUE EM DOWN ). Or I vote for the second idea, GO SHOOT THEM BABY'S. If you don't have a gun for them stick em into a straw primer side out throw them in the air and RUN LIKE HELL ( JUST KIDDING ).
