Anyone wear out a Ruger 10/22?

I have 2 Ruger 10/22's and I like to shoot them on a regular basis.  I have heard of the recoil rod elongating the mount hole in extreme cases, I have installed recoil buffers to prevent that.  But overall, how many thousands of 40 grain lead bullets can these guns take with good care? 

When the action does wear out, what are the indications?

What usually happens after many,many thousands of rounds the firing pin will start to wear.It'll also start to ride up in the bolt and give FTF.Other than that,I don't think you can wear them out.I don't think you can shoot out the barrels either.I had one stolen several years ago that had probably 200,000 rounds through it.You'll do more harm to the barrel cleaning it too often than shooting it.I've had dozens of them through the years and still have two that I built into super stockers.They will shoot into 3/8"or less at 50 yds. with fed 510 ammo.Slow

I have a 10/22 that was bought to rebuild. It came for a local pawn shop and has obviously been heavily used. The pinds retaining the trigger assembly and the bolt stop pin both have oblonged out the holes they live in until the trigger assembly is loose.. It will get rebuilt of course and a bolt stop should solve the oblonging at least somewhat for the future..

I have a 10/22 that I got as a kid about 30 years ago. 10's of thousands of rounds thru the gun, and it is still going strong.

My son is trying to wear it out now!!!

I had to clean my Marlin Model 60 this week as it started jammin. I think it had been about 7 years since the last cleaning. The Ruger 10/22 I think was cleaned about 8 years ago. Now I'm talking about disassembly of the bolt, and receiver area. I almost never clean the bores. No need. I wipe out what I can with the bolts open, and keep'em oiled until they quit. Both are still very accurate, although I'm gettin to where I'm not.
