that I bought used a few years ago. I've taken many jackrabbits at the ranges you mention. The gun is fairly light and carries well in the field. I'd also think about an R1, though its on the heavy side. My favorite of all my springers is a Beeman C1 carbine - but I don't know if these are still in production. You could also look at the R9, it gets consistently good reviews. As a suggestion..... have you considered a .20 caliber?

check out the airgun express web site. Look under the RWS demo guns and you will find some real good deals I think you could get a RWS 48 for a couple of hundred dollars . They come with a new gun warrenty as well. don't buy an RWs without going there first.

SoCal hunter,

Also check out http://www.natchezss.com/ for some of the best prices that I've come accross.  That RWS 34 is a good rifle for the price.  Accurate and hard hitting.  You couldn't go wrong getting one.  Lawdog

I have just gotten mine 2 weeks ago and love it, It only sucks to mount a scope on it due to the droop factor, but it is very accurate and hard hitting, got mine as a demo from airgun express, about 140 bucks....
