Question At an estate auction today I picked up a 20 gauge Tracker I and a 28 ga

At an estate auction today I picked up a 20 gauge Tracker I and a 28 gauge Topper. The Tracker is a little worse for wear, nothing that a little TLC wont cure, and Topper is in pristine condition. I wanted to take the Topper out tomorrow and break a few clays but alas there are only four 28-gauge shells in the cabinet. I called the only place within striking distance that regularly stocks 28 gauge shells and was told that then now stock a brand called Centurion at a very attractive price. They also stock them in 410 at the best price I have seen in years. My question is have anyone used this brand and how did they like them?

I checked them out and they are imported from Italy. The same outfit in Illinois imports Nobel and Bear ammunition. At the prices I was quoted I will probably pick up a couple of boxes in both 28 and 410. If I don’t like them I won’t be out much.

As of today I have three 28s. When I went to pick up the shells the owner of the store talked me into buying a 28 pardner he got in trade for a used 20. Gave it to me for forty bucks. I have had my Purdy side-by-side for over forty years. Shot a lot of small-bore clays with it.

I live in an area where if it isn’t a 12 gauge you can hardly give a gun away. The Tracker and Topper I bought at auction both went for less than sixty bucks.

My Centurion 5mm Remington ammo says made in Mexico by Aguila. Maybe not the same or maybe they make the shotgun ammo in Italy don't know. Kurt

Walley You got a great deal. The Tracker 1 is a realy good deer gun and your gonna love the 28. Try Ables Ammo on the net. They sell Rio brand 28ga. for under 9 dollars a box.

I can get Centurion 7 ½ for $8.04 and Nobelsport 6s for $8.25 from my regular gun shop. They also sell 410s from both manufactures for $8.49 a box.

I only use 2 ¾ shells in any of my shotguns. 2 ½ in the L. C. Smith and Purdy.
