Just got my first "Baby" Glock yesterday, a model 27. I have had a Glock 19 almost since they first reached our shores, and it is  very mild mannered compared to this little bugger. I love this thing! It is a handfull that bites as bad as its bark! Makes my hand a little numb but what the heck right!
Question is, Is there any problems with this model that I should know about? I have already put lots of
rounds through it without any problems that can't be easily solved. I found that I really need the finger rest on the mags. I shoot to point of aim with the finger rest and shoot high without it. Something in the way I grip it and squeeze the trigger but instead of wasting rounds to figure out how to compensate,
I am just going to get the add ons for my other mags. All in all a really nice little handgun! I wish I would have gotten one sooner! This IS my new carry gun, no question about it !

Contrats on your new piece. I have bought my 27 the first year that they were produced, and you have nothing to worry about. Of course, anamolies exist. I have owned a shot a fair amount of Glocks, and have never had one be anything but 100% reliable. Glock virtually wrote the book on reliability.

I carry a 27 almost daily. I did find that replacing the factory sights with Trijicons and addding a Crimson Trace Laser Grips greatly enhanced sighting and handling.  That said, those are add-ons and by no means necessary.

PS-I have kept the add-ons on some of my mags for years and they work great too!

The only thing I added to my 27 was the Trijicon Night Sites...I also added the Pearce grip extender to my mags...Helps a ton as I have big mitts and never really liked my pinkie finger hanging off of the bottom of the grip.  Absolutely no failures what so ever with this gun...It has seen a lot of rounds too...

I will add that on "add-ons" I also favor a smooth trigger.  I think it's part #357 for a Glock 17, 22, 31 type trigger.  Yes it will fit the compacts and minis fine.  The so called groved (target) trigger I'm told is just to add import points.

I might add that I drag this thing everywhere.  I love the G-27.

Don't tell me you're one of the "Stock Glock or Die" crowd!  Glocks are excellent combat pistols, and my first choice for troubled times, but perfect? No way Jose! The good news is: Lots of aftermarket parts out there to make um better!!

  No I really don't have an opinion on that aspect of it. I don't even own one yet. I just bought a 23 for my son who is turning 21 in 7 days. We shot it at the range a few days ago and I was impressed. We shot 200 rounds of three different types of ammo and never had the first problem with it.

  I've been reading a lot about them, trying to get ahead of the curve. My first love is a good S&W revolver, but I can change, if I have to.

I love my little G27.   I had to add the plus one mag extension so I could use my pinky too.   I couldn't shoot it good without it.   It just didn't fit me.   Once that was installed it was great.   I've had it since 2002 and it's been great!

I recommend adding the GAP Enterprises mag floorplate along with the Hogue Handall grip, as it handles better for me than any mag extension, .

S.S.......I have a model 27 Glock but spend most of my time shooting the big brother, model 22 with 4.5 inch barrel. I practice with the bigger grip pistol because of a hand problem in my early years. I only fire a magazine full of ammo in the 27 when practice is near the end. It will keep your hands from taking the punishment, which can lead to arthritis later down the road of life.......no fun trust me. You can pick up a set of those Pierce extension or pinky tabs at any Glock dealer or McGills catalog.
