Side effects of a bad funeral

Last week I posted that a relative had died young of cancer and it so distressed his elderly father that he died a few weeks later. I went to the funeral for the old man last Saturday. The tragedy of the situation made it very sad and I just went home and went to bed (at about 1pm). I just felt bad and tired all day.

The age old addage that parents should not have to bury their children falls on deaf ears from time too time. I have always felt that the love of a parent for their children is much greater than the love returned. Not that  a child does not love his parents, just different.
I have never had to bury a child though it was close one time. I have friends that have had to do it----and they were close to loosing it,
I can understand the frustration and the pain.

I just felt bad and tired all day.

Classic signs of depression.   Hopefully will only last a few days.  If it hangs on much longer than a week or so you may want to talk to somebody about it.

  Have seen it first hand here too.  My mother and her brother both passed before their parents and losing them took a BIG toll on my grnadfather.  Last yr, my boss passed away very unexpectedly and everyone knew it wouldn't be long before his fathe, who was not well, passed.  We were right.

I understand fully, I never had to bury a child, but did bury a grandchild,  our first, he was the light of my life, it was a gut wrenching experience to go through.

Losing loved ones is always tough, but I believe a big part of the  grieving is that it makes us more aware of our own mortality, and it sometimes scares us. Prayer sent Questor. POWDERMAN.
