Hello all,
I am unfamiliar with loose powder so I am going to start and hopefully get a 90 charge with 300 grain bullet combo dialed in for hunting. Does this sound like a decent place to start? With 100 grains of T7 pellets and a 245 grain powerbelt I can shoot 5 shot groups touching at 100 yards so I dont know if I am messing up by changing my load combo........I just want a heavier bullet to really whack that big buck this year
So my question is: To achieve the accuraccy desired, how do you know if you need to raise or lower your powder charge? Or can you even do that?
By the way my setup is a huntsman.......see thru mounts, leupold 3x9. Not sure that makes any differnce but you never know.
I am only asking because I want to be as efficient as possible. I love to shoot as much as anyone, but it can get a bit spendy and I dont have a stock pile of cash laying around.
I have: 295 grain powerbelts, 300 grain scorpion gold pt's, 300 grain hornady xtp/mags, 240 hornady xtps, saber tooths (dont know what grain because I was given some samples but they didnt tell me the grain), and I am going to pick up some cabelas dead centers. My sabots are harvester crush ribs. Hopefully I can find a combo out of that unless someone has a better suggestion.
Oh, I my shots are 100 yards or less for hunting whitetail. But if I get good load dialed in I will shoot 150/200 yards......just for fun
