Went back out this morning with the bow. Actually, I slept too late and didnt get in the stand until 8 a.m. after it was daylight.
At 9:35 a.m. a nice fat doe come strolling through and stopped 15 yards out in front of my stand and stood broadside just pretty as you please. I have always said there is no such thing as "too easy" when it comes to archery hunting...but this situation was just too sweet. Double lunged her and she went about 35 yards before goin down.
I've already got the meat butchered and in the freezer...with the exception of the tenderloins which will be fried up and served with eggs, biscuits and gravy tomorrow morning.
The completion of a fine, albeit short hunt. Man I love deer season.
