Ultra Slug hunter 12 ga bore size?
« on: September 28, 2009, 11:45:40 PM »
I'm considering picking up a 12 ga Ultra Slug hunter Handi-rifle... I can't find any specs on the bore size and twist tho... I'd like to reload some Lee key-drive slugs and round ball for it - is that a viable idea , or is this gun just a sabot shooter?... So if you can tell me the bore diameter and twist rate , that would be a big help.... Also , can any owners give me their thoughts on this slug gun?

Thanks

Bob

H&R/Remy dosen't post twist rates, but the gun is definitely designed for saboted slugs.  http://www.hr1871.com/Firearms/Shotguns/ultraSlug.asp

IIRC its 1:34 for the 12Ga and 1:28 for the 20Ga.

Mine dosen't shoot "rifled" slugs very well, but accurate enough for minute of whitetail out to 50-60 yards.
