Head on down to the campus of Valley Forge Military College.  You will have to stop and wait while they meander across the road.  At Valley Forge itself, I walked to within 10' of grazing deer including one trophy size buck.  When I got about that close they would give me an annoyed look and walk a ways away.  There is at least one herd left, albeit "unhuntable".

Not unhuntable.  I will just load up the old 79 ford pickup with a push bar and hunt away.  I might have to run down again.  I grew up sledding the hills, picking the berries and shooting the redcoats.  My parents would pick the easy berries and give me a bucket and send me into the thick stuff.  I always looked like I got into a fight with a pride of feral cats but the eating was good.  Learned to ride a bike in the parking lots there.  Also took my first of hundreds bad bike crashes and wrecked my first bike there.

Darn I actually do have a few good memories from my younger years.  20 years ago the deer weren't so populated

I beg to differ. My friend Barry up in PA sends me photos daily of deer he's catching on his game cams on his farm. At least on that one area of PA there are some deer left.  :o

I am getting 8 and 10 pointers on my game cameras every night.  Just need to figure out where to be to catch them during the day.  Only have three days left to figure it out....

When I was kid of hunting age (35 years ago) I would see herds of deer running through the woods.  I went back to visit a few years after joining the military and they had cut the woods and left all the tops in there.  What a stinking mess.  I'm not sure the area has ever recovered.

That is perfect deer cover.  Wade on in there...I bet there are monster bucks.

I'm sure.....but you couldn't even move around in those tops they were so thick.  I'm sure it's decayed some by now.  I don't live over there any more and only visit occasionally.
