I've heard it said that we're a decade behind the EU when it comes to government/social institutions. Sadly I think we lack the maturity to learn vicariously from their mistakes so were doomed to follow them like lemmings off a cliff. The EU also saw some neo-Nazis and Fascists elected this year, as ultra-conservatism is on the rise in reaction to ultra-liberalism. Do you think we'll see that too before its over? I pray not.
