Bergara 45-70 barrel
« on: October 12, 2009, 12:27:54 PM »
I have a bergara 45-70 barrel that uses the ML forend. The way that forend mounts on the barrel I am afraid that the recoil is going to egg out the threads. I would like to use a hanger bar but the threads are not the same as the regular Encores ( not 8-40 ). I am afraid if I get a hanger bar I will not have the right screws to mount it. Any ideas? As a last resort I will pillar bed it with the screws that came with it....Thanks Terry

Give Steve at Stratton Custom a call. Steve will probably need to know the diameter of your barrel at the screw holes, and should be able to fix you up. I recently received a Stratton Custom Hanger Bar from Steve and he was very helpful in me getting the right hanger bar for my barrel.
