NM Blackhawk adjustable sight question
« on: October 09, 2003, 02:25:31 PM »
I have noticed on like new adjustable sights that the windage adjustment screw is loose as a goose-to the point I can turn it with my finger nail. It does not turn with a "click" like my GP-100 does but instead rotates freely with almost no resistance. The blade itself still has spring resistance and the threads on the screw itself are in good shape? Any ideas? Thanks.

My SBH rear sight has a tiny ball bearing with a spring that detents in the adjusting screw. I suspect someone took yours apart and lost the spring and ball or it may have been shipped that way. Either way, the elevation will not stay in adjustment without the detent ball and spring. Give Ruger a call and they will probably replace it.
