the load in question is from buffalo bore and it is well within spec and out of a 8 3/8 inch smith x frame.  there's several loads commercially available that run much much better than 2000fps with 200 grains.  buffalo also has a 300 grain hardcast load at 2060 fps from the same barrel.  i have standard hornady commercial 240 grain loads at 2000fps and old corbon boxes from mid 90's before they toned down their 454 ammo when the 460 came out which were listed at 2090 fps with a 240 grain jacketed load out of a 7.5" FA as the test standard.  hornady sst 200grain loads are listed at 2200 fps out of the 8 3/8" smith.  that load out of a 20" encore gives me right at about 2800fps.  there's several other good barnes x bullet loads from corbon and federal that are dynamite out of an encore with very high velocities.  in fact, just to make sure all the data from the hornady loads and such are from actual revolvers and are the velocities you can expect.  i just called to clarify.  now the FA revolver is used for 454 which gives sometimes quite a few fps over the ruger b/c of smaller cylinder gap sooooooooo just be aware what pistol is used for the numbers.
a gun owner that votes dem is an oxymoron with the emphasis on moron.
