No camera present when I took a buck antelope a few weeks ago but had it with me Saturday.
This was the only day of two week season when I could hunt and couldn't get to the hills until almost noon due to road conditions. After hunting for over five hours I got the drop on this forkhorn as he tagged along with a bunch of does and fawns. This was exactly the situation I was hoping for as I did not have time to climb up the mountain where the big bucks hang out and no time to deal with one if I got it. So I deliberately hunted where I knew the does and fawns would be.

How's this for an arm's length, self-portrait? It only took three attempts to get the buck in the background.
Last year I had an antelope and a mule deer with the Swede but blew the only shot at elk. Looks like I can attempt a Swede trifecta again this year. First day I can hunt elk is this Saturday. Maybe I will have recoverd from dragging this little buck 3/4 of a mile to the truck. Thank goodness for the snow!
