Heritage Arms 38spl "Sentry" - Anyone have any Info on them?
« on: October 18, 2009, 02:22:31 AM »
Heritage arms made the Sentry model double action revolvers about 15 years ago. I just picked up two in 38 special for $150 and both are new in the box. They weren't expensive DA revolvers because you have to remove the cylinder to load them, just like taking the cylinder out of a single action revolver. Each weighs 23 ounces, is a six shot, has a 2" barrel w/ rubber grips and works as a single action or double action. They seem pretty stout but I haven't shot them yet, so I'm just curious if anyone owns/owned one, shoots one, has shot one or knows anything about them. I haven't found much online about them except that they're considered a cheap Saturday Night Special and not looked upon well by the anti-gun community. Thanks in advance.

I have had a few Heritages in the past none 38 spcl but they worked great for me. I hope this helped a little, if you're using them for ccw they should work great. If you need more than 5 or 6 shots in a ccw case then you are probably in serious trouble anyway.

The state of RI defines a junk pistol/revolver as one made from non heat treated metal, (Not all steel).  The Sentry is listed. Strange thing is, the NAA mini revolvers are also listed. They, of course all all stainless. Just goes to show, they have no clue, just rush to ban handguns, any handgun, for any reason.
If I were shooting your Sentrys, I'd shoot them with light loads. Bet they would work just fine.
