Graphite Shafts

I would like to buy some new graphite arrow shafts (not arrows) over the internet. Most of the suppliers will only ship the shafts in their full length. Specs call for the shafts to be cut with a high speed cut-off tool which is designed for this purpose. I do not have this tool, nor is it worth buying to use once or twice.

Is it possible to cut these graphite shafts with something that is normally found in the house. Power chop saw, dremel tool or something else???

As long as you support the inside of the carbon arrowshaft with an insert you can use the same sharp tubing cutter that you would use on aluminium arrows. Just go slow and don't crush the shaft  and make sure the inside of the arrow has an insert in it before you cut. I don't think any other tool will cut a shaft as evenly or as square as the old tubing cutter. Good luck hunting!

Have you contacted Mountain Archery http://www.mtnarchery.com about buying shafts cut to length.  I think they will as they sell both bare shafts and completed arrows.  Being that they will cut and fletch them to your specifications, I would think they would sell you the shafts without the fletching.

I just bought some Beeman ICS Camo Hunter bare shafts ( with inserts and nocks) on closeout that had already been cut to my length.
