Greetings from Georgia,

I recently posted about some way crazy groups with cast bullets. Maybe I was trying to push them a bit to hard, but I knew it was not the gun. I got some new 350 gr. soft points, loaded them moderately hot, and now have it tuned in !! The group shown below was shot at my home range today, and I must say, I will take groups like this EVERY TIME ! The Varget is doing well, and my rifle seems to love the 350's. This gun quite easily shot a 1/2 inch group at 100 yards, what else is left to do except move the point of impact just a touch to the right. Man I love these single shot NEF rifles !!

Good shooting Dave, I get similar accuracy with the 350g Hornady RN in my BC.

This one is about the size of one of the holes in yours.  Larry

Shame on you.  If you wanted the 2 of clubs you should have just got it out of the deck and left the 2 of spades alone.

That's beautiful shooting.....all of you.  Too bad it's only a hundred yard rifle. :o :o :o  Right now, it would take me half a day to find a playing card at 100 yards, and probably a box of .45-70s to hit it :'( :'( :'(  Only kidding, it's not that bad.....yet.

Varget is a great .45-70 powder.  It works well from light to hot.  The 405 grain Remington & the 400 Speer work really well and are very accurate.  The Lee .459 hollow based cast bullet shoots well too and it's pretty much free.

Great Shooting!  My 45-70 SS Ultra Hunter is doing it with the Hornady LEVERevolution 325 gr FTX
right out of the box.  I only JB'd it and shot a few rounds thru it to break it in and then sighted it in at 100 yards.  I love my 45-70   See my old posts:

http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,155360.msg1098670399.html#msg1098670399

Last year my hunting partner and I were using the Hornady LEVERevolution's 325 gr in his BC 45-70, and his Handi 45-70, and I am using them my Ultra Hunter SS 45-70 and love them.  The longest a deer has run, so far after the shot, is 30 yards, the longest shot has been at 210 yards.
We will be using the same this year also.

Don't Y'all know, Handi's are cheap rifles and are not suppose to shoot like that Fellas. ;)

Good shooting to Y'all.
