FYI Winchester .270 brass
« on: October 11, 2009, 02:33:07 AM »
I loaded 40 rounds of .270 youth loads for a friend's son last weekend. I bought the brass last winter from Midway. The primer pockets were a little shallow.  I got the primers barely seated flush with the base. I'm not knocking Winchester brass, just passing along info of my experience. Dave

Fed LR BR. I'm sure it was the brass and not a primer problem. I've used the same primers (lot #) in several different brands and different cartridges without problems.

Nothing a primer pocket uniformer won't take care of.
I use mine on all of my brass

Ok, then. After looking at primer height tolerances and the variation between brands, I thought the primer might be part of the problem.
