TC forearms, long or short?

How do you like your TC forearms, Encore or Contender. I personally like them to about 2" from the end of the barrel.
6-1/2" forearm on a 14" barrel.
Longer forearm for comparison.

I like the looks of the 6 inch as compared to the longer one because it shows off the thickness and length of the barrel better.
More business like,is what Im trying to say.

I like the longer one. It reminds me somewhat of a mannlicher style stock. I guess I spelled that right. I only wish I had more of a selection for my Contender as both of my barrels are 10 inch octagon. Kinda sorta limited on my choices.

I am partial to the longer one myself. However, I generally have to compromise because with a muzzle brake I need at least 4" from the rear ports or the muzzle blast will burn the front of the forend.

Depends on what it will be used for Dave. For offhand shooting/hunting I'd want the shorter (lighter) forend... for benchrest hunting the longer forend.
Here's a set I designed and had made for me by Bullberry for my Bullberry 12" 22LRM barrel that I shot IHMSA SBUAS & SBUS with. Wood looked pretty good with a 14"/15" barrel mounted as well.

I prefer short, especially on carbines. I don't like the forend covering almost the entire barrel.

I like the look of the shorter forends better but I've been very happy with the performance of a long forend w/ a bipod and I'll keep using them for that reason. Although I am warming up to look of the long forends. They don't seem as weird to me as they used to.

I love beautiful wood like you make Dave and want as much as possible.
When I go deep and hard on a hunt I through on some ugly wood or
Tupperware and don't worry about damaging it.
So, long would be my answer

I like the long seems it would protect and allow more rest options in the field and not to mention that I like the look of the wood.
