Anyone know if the new model 70 rifle is bedded from the factory or any action to stock information?
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

Pick yourself up the latest issue of Rifle magazine. Theres an article on the new 70 that is the most thorough I've read yet. Most of the parts are outsourced and they are basically assemble in N.C., save the barrel and a few other things. To answer your question yes they are bedded, in the recoil lug area and the tang. If the bedding is anything like my Winchester Coyote, the bedding is more of a hot glue than true bedding compound.  I made the mistake of trying to sand it off, only to get it tacky again.  Ended up using a chisel to remove the rest for proper bedding.
