traditional xbow

Thought some of you crossbow guys may be interested in this one. I don't post to much on hunting since it's something I would rather do than type about. I got off work at 6am and was home at 7am. Put on the scent suit and camo and in the woods at 7:10. Just ground hunting sitting behind a tree with a bank to the right.
At 7:15 hear this guy moving up the trail so I spin real quiet to his direction.  He has been wearing the trail out, first day I was able to  get out and hunt. I figured it was a doe trail with a whole lot of them using it because it is about 5" deep. We have had so much rain lately the little trail was a muddy ditch, couldn't really make out tracks in it to tell how big the deer were.

He pops out behind the bank 5 yards away and I send one his way. He runs about 35-40 yards and slides to a halt. I walk back to the house and get the scout. I was only about 100 yards from my back door. Loaded him up and took him 2 miles away to the processor. Back before the wife woke up. So my hunting, field dressing and in the cooler was 35 minutes. This is the first buck I have shot in 10 years or so, I usually go for medium does. He just was at the wrong place at the wrong time and I never used this bow before, had to try it out. I think this is the sorry one that keeps on  stealing my fruit. So I guess I get the last laugh. ;)

Man, my hats off to you!!  That's a real accomplishment in this day and age.  I shoot a recurve Excal, but have often thought about one like yours.  Kudos!

A neighbor made me that x bow. He is not in great health so I keep him in game every year. Well some times he shoots out the window and I go fetch them up. But he has bad lungs and can't walk to far.

It is a 200 lb draw. It has plenty of power for 60 yards on the target out back. Of coarse no sights, but it will run very good out to 30 yards without to much hold over. After that it takes a little practice, but not to bad. It's easier to hit with than a long bow.
