TC 30 carbine twist rate

Hello,
I am building a contender to shoot in sillhouette, and have decided on 30 carbine.  Does anyone know what twist rate TC used in their 10" bull bbls?  The one I'm looking at is an older bbl but the seller does not know the rate of twist and I do not see where TC lists the twist rates of their bbls.  Any help is appreciated.

Currently, and I believe in the past, the twist rate of all .308 caliber T/C barrels is/has been 1:10.

You picked a great caliber to work with.  I've found them to shoot quite accurately from both Blackhawks and T/C's.

You will want to find out how "old" the barrel is.  While the later T/C production runs (1980s/90s) used a 1:10" twist (I have two from that era), an earlier run (IIRC 1970s) used a slower twist rate of 1:20".  The 1:10" makes an awesome silhouette barrel, the 1:20" not so much.

Actually, from the looks of the barrel and sights thereon, I think it's of newer vintage.

There is an easy way to tell what the twist rate is.  Take a patch on a cleaning rod and pull it through from the breech end where the rifling starts.  Put some tape with an index mark on it where the rod is coming out the muzzle.  Pull the rod through letting it follow the rifling until the rod has made one complete revolution.  Measure the distance from your tape to the muzzle and you'll have your twist rate.  It should be easy to tell if it's a 1:10 twist vs a 1:20 twist barrel.

    If the pic of the box is the original, the barrel is of '80's vintage.  From looking at the barrel, it is '80's or newer.
