Local FFL dealer busted
« on: October 21, 2009, 09:03:01 AM »
In a small town about 15 miles from me the police along with the feds busted a pawn shop owner with an ffl and a convicted felon acting as his partner on selling guns to known felons.
On at least two occasions at the local flee market a transaction was made between the partner and a police informant to purchase firearms after telling the seller they were convicted felons.
On one transaction the owner ffl holder became suppious and refused the deal but continued to finish the transaction through a straw purchaser knowing all the time what he was doing was illegal.
Undercover police set up a meeting with the two at the pawn shop and showed up with BATFE and warrants for their arrest and search warrants for both the pawn shop and the owners house.
They seized 43 firearms from his house and over 1300 from the basement of the pawn shop along with 15 boxes of records.

I say serves him right.
I hope he gets the full extent of the law.
It's guys like him that give us all a bad rap.
I have know this man for many years and have always thought he was a little shaky.
I never bought a firearm off him as I always thought he was to high.
At least my name won't show up in his records.
The worst part is I have been down in that basement and there were a lot of really nice old guns there that who knows what will become of them.
Maybe they will hold an seized item auction and they will become available to the generial public.

Don't count on it, if ATF has their way they will all be destroyed.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Nah, won't be destroyed. End up in either an ATF agents collection, or one of the local PD's collection. gypsyman
