we hunt tug hill on occation..

yeah my sister is by far way ahead of us...  BUT

she has land no one else has permission to hunt and it is prime...
she always takes a nice buck or two out of there.... thats my reasoning.. and im sticking to it...lol

around here on state land and the little we have that isn't state land..  these are nice bucks.. the ratio of buck to doe is way out of proportion in this area..

Nice deer. I am just north of you guys near ogdensburg in 6a.  We need to get together for a hunt or two or a beer or two.

Nice deer, my son took his first rifle buck at our hunting camp in the township of Turin. it was a spikehorn. I broke my spikehorn tradition this year with a three point. 160 yard shot with my new H&R 308 ultra varmint Dick's SG combo. Great way to get it bloodied. Another buddy took a four point.

VERY COOL....

there is nothing like getting the first one or the first with a new rifle...

my first muzzleloader came this year... i was so excited over that spike ...  my knees were shaking after i heard him crash.,...lol

my second in a row for my 30-30 NEF single shot...   6 point last year and 4 point this year... maybe next year ill add them together and get a 10 point..lol

but thats awsome..  good trip... and im glad to hear from someone that sees a trophy as the deer itself (as i do also) and not just a monster rack...

Thanks! We are not trophy hunters. a good buck is nice to get but it's not important to us. I have a hard time understanding the mind set of people who have to wait for a so called shooter buck. We hunt for the experience and to fill the freezer.

Spikehorn, I think you should send me a steak from the deer you got with the Tracker. Oh never mind. Some one at the post office would eat it before it got here. ;D

If I can get one of the Styrofoam coolers from my work, and some of the freezer packs I will.

Nice looking deer and congrats!
Just got back from Yorkshire for the opener.
Hunted Sat, Sun and Mon.
I was lucky to see several deer, but didn't take one.
Had an iffy shot at a fork horn opening day but passed.
From what the old timers in camp keep saying, the deer population sure isn't what it used to be.
Still a good time, but as I said I was lucky to see some does and keep it interesting.
