Can anyone give me some info on this Handi?

I might pick this up from a guy that sent me a PM on another forum.

All I know so far that it's chambered in 223 Remington and it's an H&R. Can anyone give me a model or any other info? I've never seen a stock with checkering like this. I would take the stock off and put a synthetic on it. Any idea what it's worth. Thanks!!!

well of course! I'm trying to get the first letters of the SN now to get a date on it. Anybody know what model or any other info? Thanks

Looks like a Handi with the curly maple stock sets they used to make, got one on my 204 Ruger.

I just bought one Monday exactly like it 223 bull barrel, curly maple,3x9 simmons, but no bipod I paid $250 for it the guy won it in a raffle and didn't want it can't wait to break it in

haha NEVER. I don't understand why people paint rifles...I could understand if you were in a harsh environment but get a synthetic stock and stainless receiver/barrel.

 I sent the guy an offer tonight and we will see what he says. wish me luck because I really like that stock!  ;D

All I know is if you do get it and change stocks I WANT FIRST CHANCE AT THEM!!!
They would really look nice on the the gold scene frame I just bought from CRO.
