I shoot a lot of prairie dogs with 22s so I pay attention to where the lower post of a multi plex reticle hits. For instance I have a straight 4x on one 22. The crosshair is on at 25, and the lower post is on at 100yds. That's a pretty neat setup, they won't all work out that nice.
Variables add another dimension to the equation, because at different powers the lower post zeros at different ranges. Unfortunately, the lower powers zero at longer ranges and higher powers zero closer. I shoot many different rifles, and with centerfires I use the alternate aiming points for things like reduced loads, so almost all my scopes have little stickies on them with the data on how the scope is zeroed and what the posts of the multi x reticles do.
