New Yorkers ?
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:30:19 PM »
Have been watching a few ball games, the sun don't shine on the east coast or why do all the yankee fans look like zombies? (or maybe the overspray from the white house hit you again.)

Maybe because they spend all their time in front of the tv watching stupid ball games.  I live in NY and don't think i look like a zombie. Then again i go outside as much as i can.

In all seriousness, I have visited New York City several times and can tell you that sunken-eyed cadaverous pallor is not uncommon among New Yorkers. Most people do look pretty normal, but many actually do look like extras in a Night Of The Living Dead movie. Many people there seldom go outdoors for any length of time, ever.

There are some fine specimens there!

Boy, talking about a culture shock, I was born, raised and lived my entire life in the “Sunny South,”  Even my tour in the Army was spent south of the Mason-Dixon line,  but in 1957 when I enlisted in the Air Force my first assignment was to Manhattan Beach AF Station, that’s was about as city as you can get, this ole country boy had never seen so much concrete.  We were lost in the city, venture two blocks away from the base and no one had ever heard of the place. Yes, for a flag waving Robert E. Lee orientated Son of the South it was an awaking experience.

After five months there I volunteered for an assignment to Sondrestrom AB, Greenland with the assurance, that upon return, I would be returned to the sunny south.

I must admit, there were some beautifu people and country out of the city, for the most part they seened to be just "good ole country folks."

I live in NY...UPSTATE NY.
The whole downstate area could fall off as far as I'm concerned.
It's too bad most people can't or won't differentiate between the two.

I grew up in Noth Joisey.....got my butt out at 18 and haven't looked back.  I went Upstate NY where I had hunted and fished.  Totally different environment......wonderful people.  You could lie on the sidewalk in Manhattan and people would step over you.....if they didn't roll you off the curb.  Cities and city people, population centers, are where we're going to loose our constitutional rights.  They're all paranoid.  They live in fear behind multi-locked doors.  Where I am, they sell about as many door locks as they do icecubes to Eskimos.
