Here is a crummy cell phone pic of my son's first deer with a bow taken 10/17:

Here's a pic of his first limit of ducks/geese on this weekend's hunt taken 10/24:

I couldn't be happier!

Well youth weekend came and went, and I must say it was one of the best weekends of my life.  Even though my daughter didn't get to take a shot...she made of of the biggets decisions in her life...so far.

Had a nice 8pt at about 60 yds Saturday morning, she chose not to take the shot...had a small limb between and was didn't want to mess up the shot.  I was really proud that she made the right decision.....when I was her age for my first buck...I probably would've tried something stupid and screwed it up.  We'll get him next time.

That's awesome that she had the maturity to hold off.  So many hunters, including us "more experienced" hunters want make the right decisions when that buck is standing there.  Hopefully she will be rewarded with her decision with an even nicer 10 pointer!

Bragging on kids is expected. The deer and birds sorta requires bragging. You'll both remember those hunts forever, congratulations to both of you.

This past weekend at James E. Daughtery outside of Tilden, TX.  He did some nice shooting, 4 shots 3 pigs, not bad at all with an Encore.  She didn't see anything but was very excited for her brother.

Enjoy the pic:
