357 Super mag?
« on: October 01, 2009, 01:57:45 PM »
I have a chance to pick up what i think is a model 40 with 6" heavy barrel in excellent condition. My question is. Do they or did they ever make a 4" barrel for this model? I have always wanted one just havent had the chance to get one.
Thanks in advance.

Yes they did, but they're as rare as the 15", which they also made.  I saw a 15" at a gun show many years ago and the 4" came up on auction a few times on Ebay, when they allowed them.  The price for the 4" always went beyond what I considered reasonable.  They were in the Norwich offering, before CZ took over and they may still have them in stock.  I currently have the 9 1/2", two in 8" and a 6" barrels for my set.

Hold your ears!!!
Shooting the 6" Max is loud even with muffs, can't imagine what the 4" is like.
