Does anyone use the TruGlo 2 X reddot scope ?
« on: August 25, 2009, 02:28:37 AM »
I am looking for opinions on the 2 x 42 reddot scope from people who use this scope.
What I am concerned about is the small 2.5 MOA dot size, and the 2 X magnification ?
Can you see this dot good even at say 25 yards ? That would only be approximatly 5/8 ' dot size ?
And does the 2 X  give you much help at say 100 yards ?   I want to use this on a short barreled ( 18" ) 30-30 single shot carbine for shots out to 100 yrds. or so, If you use one of these, tell me what to expect, likes / dislikes.    Thanks     Jed

I have one on a Remington 11-87 and use it for Turkeys. I use the Dot in a circle reticle and had no problem putting the dot on a nice tom's head at 50yds. I have both the 2x and regular one and notice no difference in dot size with the 2x.  Hope this help you out.

I tried one on a 44 mag handi it was okay to about 75 yards but just not enough magnification for my old eyes at 100 yards. I am buying a tracker II 20ga tommorow and having a scope rail put on it and am strongly leaning towards putting it on that cause here in central N.Y. shots out past 75 yards are few and far between. I also have one one a high point 9mm carbine and is sighted in at 50 yards and works great.
