Multiple use recipe
« on: June 12, 2009, 12:00:23 PM »
Was researching how to keep cats out of an area in the yard or garden and came up with this:

Homemade Cat Repellent
5 tablespoons of flour
4 tablespoons of powdered mustard
3 tablespoons of Cayenne Pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
Mix together, stir into 2 quarts of water, and spray the perimeter of the area

Now, if the .22 is your preferred cat deterent, then try this:

Homemade Cat Dry Rub
5 tablespoons of flour
4 tablespoons of powdered mustard
3 tablespoons of Cayenne Pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
Mix together,coat, and slow cook

Does it work?  Might give it a try.  I have a neighbors cat who thinks my raised garden is a cat box.  Who knows it might save that cats life.

Whatever you do, don't give old Tom any tylenol. It kills cats and mice. Now if cats are a headache, that's a different story. ;)

I'm a cat lover, so I could never harm a cat. Fact is, I couldn't harm a dog, either. I'm a softy when it comes to animals, excepts stinging insects and ants.
But the cat recipe reminded me: I ate cougar once. A woman brought in a crock pot of cubed cougar meat, in barbecue sauce. Even thought I'm a cat-lover I gave it a try -- and I'm glad I did!
It was wonderful! Had the taste and texture of lean pork. In barbecue sauce, it was delicious!
Now, I could never shoot a cougar, bobcat or lynx, unless it was in self defense, but if someone offered me some cougar meat I wouldn't turn it down. I'd throw it in the crock pot, pour in a bottle of barbecue sauce, and invite a bunch of friends over for a "pork barbecue."
And I'd never let them know.
Cougar's dang good eating!
