That darn E-bay has made me the owner of a like new, Sky Archery (Hoyt), Sky Hawk, 55# left hand recurve.  Time to start praticing for bear season.

Bear and recurves are made for each other! I'm guessing a 2020 would be a good shaft for that bow, assuming that you draw 28". Plenty heavy for good penetration! Last bear I killed was with a Magnus 2 with the bleeder on a 2219, 29" long and it cut a heck of a hole. 340# boar (field dressed)and he went about 25 yards. I haven't had a chance to kill a bear with a Wensel Woodsman, but I've taken a couple of whitetails and caribou with them and they did an awesome job. Have fun with the new bow and keep me informed on what you end up with as far as an arrow and broadhead combo is concerned. Mike Bolin

Glad to hear it.  The boy and I are into traditional archery as well.  I shoot an Earl Hoyt Jr Sky Eagle recurve (#50) and a Jeff Massie Longhorn longbow (#55).  Chad's got his own Martin recurve.
