A Hero
« on: November 09, 2009, 01:50:32 PM »
The media today has cheapened the word "Hero" A hero can be as insignificant as a football player or other sports figure that plays a great game and manages to live their lives off the playing field without getting into trouble with the law. Or a politician that receives the Nobel Peace Price for some unknown reason.

There was a true HERO at Ft Hood Texas by the name of Kimberly Munley, a Policewoman that no doubt, prevented a Maniac from killing and wounding more people that tragic day.She put her life on the line, and came very close to losing it. Kimberly Munley is a TRUE HERO

The state controled media aint about to make a big deal about the woman that shot the poor deranged and troubled Major. He is a protected minority!

She deserves a medal and probably wont get a call from the president.

Yep, Officer Munley did well!!
Let's not forget another officer ( male, sorta being left out of the story ) was also there, who put at least one round ( perhaps the "dropper" ) into the shooter.
Also deserving much credit are all those who went into "combat mode", providing first aid, etc. immediately.

When I worked at the White House I did turn down my photo-op with President Clinton...  had to defend that choice to the SGM and our unit Commander.

YEP, me too. About klinton. A local black lady, a prominent member of our community, had a private meeting with him. She's a Christian woman and outspoken. This was while the news was hot on Monica. After their meeting klinton was quite embarrassed and asked his staff, why didn't somebody warn me about her???? The local paper interviewed Mattie and asked her what she said to him. Mattie said, that boy needed a good whuppin, and I done give him one. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

She popped him twice and of coarse was hit and went down. The man popped him twice as well. Soldiers were hollering 2 more meaning shoot 2 more times. The male officer went off looking for two more shooters during the confusion. I wish they would have been taught the non politically correct 2 in the chest and 1 in the head instead of a double tap center mass. No doubt the left wing media will make a plight for this terrorist's cause to the world.

Center mass 9mm Beretta. When the lady got him he went into a seated position on the wall. When the man got him he slumped over almost in a half lying position.  Possible spinal, probable lung.  Wounds were said to be a baseball sized group under right breast. 1 dead center and 3 within 3" and to right on his body.

From what I have been reading I am not sure the woman even shot the guy. I read a supposed eye witness account and they said the male cop was the one that put him down. Said he saw the woman get shot ,but did not see her shoot the bad guy. He said was not saying she didn't just that he didn't see it.
I think the MSM just might be making a hero of the wrong person! After all they don't want a white man to be any thing but stupid.

Just saw the interview of the female and male officers on TV. Interesting.

I thought I had waited long enough after the shooting to get the true story, but "I didn't"
It appears Sgt Mark Todd was the policeman that stopped Hasan.

Who Is True Fort Hood Hero?

(CBS/ AP) Senior Sgt. Mark Todd confirmed he shot Maj. Nadil Malik Hasan, the alleged Fort Hood gunman, after eyewitness accounts surfaced that contradicted reports of Sgt. Kimberly Munley taking down shooter.

During an appearance on CBS' "The Early Show" Thursday, Todd said that after Munley was shot, he "drew [the gunman's] attention towards me and then he opened fire and then I neutralized him and secured him."

The statement appears to confirm an eyewitness account in the New York Times that credits Todd with bringing down Hasan, but Todd was careful to use the term "we" in other references to the incident during his interview with "Early Show" co-host Harry Smith.

On Wednesday, Munley appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" alongside Todd and described the scene as "confusing and chaotic" but she remembers getting shot.

Munley said it felt like "a muscle being torn out of my leg."

The 34-year-old Munley is out of the hospital after undergoing two surgeries. The 42-year-old Todd was not wounded.

Todd, a military veteran, said the Fort Hood shooting was the first time in his career that he used his weapon and credits his training with preparing him for the situation.

"Training is everything," he told Smith. "In a situation like this you don't have to think, you just react."

Munley said it will be a slow process to get back to her normal life, but she knows she can do it.

I don't see where the confusion lies. Try to make it simple. Woman enters from the south. First to see the gunman, fires strikes offender twice, gets shot herself. Within a few seconds, next officer enters from East. A different doorway. Fires 2 more shots. The woman's name was released as being in hospital getting shot and firing shots as well. So the talk radio trumped her up as being the hero. Not saying she isn't. Both officers stopped many more from being killed. Not taking away at all from these two officers, thankfully they prevented the guy from killing many more. I am hoping DOD will use this experience to revamp their training system, since our soldiers are not allowed to defend their bases in this country on a daily basis.
