finally made it to the range today....first time out with a 308 ultra barrel i got from Tim a while back. I had some 150 gr milsurp bullets i pulled from 30-06 ammo.I went with those bullets,WLR primers,and IMR 4895 starting loads. No problems at all with the rifle,but need to upgrade my scope rings....
....once i got the scope settled down the groups had a perfect triangular shape.A little more load work and this will be a good shooter,thanks Tim. I'm shooting the wgrs peep on my 357 mag rifle and for you guys that want to do that the .634 front sight that h+r sells is the right height. i am using the next shorter one(about .560), and it will work too. My target loads were right-on elevation wise with the aperature on it's lowest setting. Also shot some loads from the 308 with 150 gr FNGC bullets and 13 grs of win 231....lots of fun....
