Nice Day Shooting
« on: November 08, 2009, 01:19:02 PM »
Well for some. A friend brought over his new 44 mag Handi and muzzle loader. We swapped the scope from one and mounted another. I helped him but man them leftys sure are backarsdwards. ;D First chance he's had to shoot it. He was hitting pretty good with the 44 mag and real smileyfaced. :) His 45 muzzle loader is right on too. It took most of the afternoon :(  I did shoot my contender 223 a few times. Sure like the Handis better. Hope to get my 44 touched up a bit before Sat. Now I'm really behind on things to do around here. But it still was a good day. ;D

It was a good day! I finally fixed us a place to shoot at the house so we can shoot without killin' the neighbor's cows. I got my little .45 Colt Handi tuned in at 80yds.. Quickdtoo put me on Lil Gun and my reloads put the last 2 shots were in the same hole. I can't wait to try it out Saturday!

You know, I think we need to figure out a way for Tim to get a deer. Don't sound like he has very good chances where he is. He is more than welcome to hunt at my place. If we could get him here by Sat. I would sleep in. ;D

Well I must say, we all must think alike.

We also did some brush clearing for a shooting range.

We sited in Handi's in .44 and .223 and Ultra 20, Contender .357 max. Mossy's in 12 and 20, and a Rugar Blackhawk .44. It was actually confirmation on a couple and sighting in on the rest. ;)

Then it was off to the stands to do some last minute tree trimming.

All in All it was a pretty good day.

Dang you guys ;D That is what I wanted to do - some shootin'. I did leaves and cleaned gutters all weekend instead. First on Saturday at my place then Sunday at my lake place :( I planted all those trees, makes me wonder why, now. ???

LaOtto, I planned on doing the leaves thing yesterday and he shows up with two guns to scope and sight in. He's never done it before. So it took all afternoon to help him with it. So today I spent from 1:00 to 5:30 doing the leaves. Sounds like you need to get your priorities adjusted a little.;D

You are right there. I have my priorities, but my wife has others. I have been married for over 35 years and the one thing I learned to keep peace was "yes dear". She lets me make it up in other ways, I do have a shooting range in the yard and she does not squawk too much about me spending some money on my shooting sports and other "hobbies".

It's been a quiet 1/2 year for me with no shooting(thank goodness).  I know I need to sight-in 3 guns myself.  The 357 Mag and 45 LC Handi as well as the 20ga ULSH. My dad wants to deer hunt this year (first time) and has asked to use my 45LC.  I was gonna let the 20ga wait until next year, but if dad wants to hunt, I will use the 20ga.  My mom will use the 357 Mag Handi.  She shot it last weekend and could keep all her shots within 2" @ 50yds. Not too bad for a righty shooting southpaw.

Dinny    5 more days... ;)

You better just save your ammo over there. Them critters shoot back :o
Wouldn't it be nice if they were getting ready for deer season instead of what they get off on. Man it sure seems like a wasteful way of thinking.
Good Luck and get back here SAFE!

I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.  She just shot it last weekend and that renewed your interest.  She has had rotator cuff issues with her left shoulder and didn't think she could shoot it this year. Boy was she surprised.  She had forgotten how fun and easy it was to shoot since last year. No shoulder pain from shooting.  She shot some of my 180gr XTP reloads and that's what she will hunt with this year.
