Lee Mould 230 gr .452 dia

casting with wheel weights, bullet weights 173 gr. Sent mold back, was sent another, does the same thing. cut one of the bullets in half looking for a possible air pocket, bullet was filled. any one have this problem or have a solution? All answers appreciated.

I guess no one else has ran into this. my only take on this is the mold is marked wrong, other bullets molded with the same ww material are within 4 or 5 grains of stated weight.

I have no answer, but I do have a few questions.

Are you sure your alloy is good? Even straight foundry type would cast heavier than 173 grains in a "proper" 230 gr. mould.

First thing that occured to me is zinc alloy, it would be about that weight.

Can you post a picture of the offending mould and/or boolits?

cast 250 grain 44 bullets with same alloy, weighted 244 to 247 grains. I'll see what I can do about a picture. thanks for the questions

i have this mold with my ww alloy they run239 to 240 gr.shootsgreat with 10 gr unique in my 4.5 inch blackhawk.
