Forend Quality
« on: October 19, 2003, 01:16:07 PM »
Where do you get quality forends?  I realize no two pieces of wood are the same, but I am not happy with a heavy barrel walnut forend that I got from Mid South.

The wood is very blond in comparison to the butt stock and 209X50 forend that came with the rifle.  When I switch out to my 7mag, it looks like a mis-match.  I know looks aren't everything, but this is pretty ugly.

I'm thinking about boxing it back up and asking for a replacement..

I would think if you called them, they would attempt to match it for you..  Most of these places really do try to please.  Or else go to a Cabelas, Bass Pro etc...   I am like you, I like things to match.

Update -  I decided to pckg it up and send it back to MidSouth today.  They're going to exchange it.  I'll let you know what the next one looks like...
