10 Ga slug shooter?
« on: November 14, 2009, 03:52:30 AM »
I have a 3 ˝” 10 gauge – SB2 frame – serial no. NG3XXXXX
New England Firearms – Manufactured in Gardner MASS.
Camo turkey gun

Well I was out in the garage and found the original X full tube that had been replaced by the ported ballistics specialties tube that Nitro Company used to turn the 10 into the mighty “turkey destroyer 2000” with the hand loads they made for me. That’s the name it was given by my shooting buddies. I have wanted to try and shoot slugs in it but did not want to buy another tube and I did not want to launch a slug from the ported tube for fear of pulling it out of the end of the barrel. Well when I found it in the garage I thought I would take it to work and have the machinist cut the restriction out to open it up and give it a try. Any of you have any thoughts, ideas or opinions on this?
Thanks
Randy

I'll bite
Who is Tyler Kemp?
Yes I want to say I did it at least one time. :'( I don't like it with the turkey loads so I am fairly certain I will not like the slugs. :o But hey it may be a shooter. I may be on to something but I doubt it. ;D

My shoulder hurts just reading this :)

You guys had better shut up ;D  You're giving Ty a lot of new masochistic ideas ;)  One thing I do know is that I'm NOT a recoil junky, I don't go out of my way to find it, It finds me often enough.

Do it! Have you ever heard anybody's grandad complain about recoil? Back when the average guy was about 5'9" & 150? The same small guys that lugged M1 Garands halfway across Europe? Are they tougher than you are? Do it! A little pain is good for the soul.  ;)

At 74, I still like to feel a good solid jolt from time to time. A real mans gun don'tcha know. :)
After watching the tyke shoot his .45-120, my only suggestion to him would be to add a 30# counter weight to his left foot to keep his balance.  ;D    Happy shooting.
