358 wildcat

There are a number of .358 wildcats based on the wssm and wsm cartridges. Does anyone on this forum own one of these? I have heard all kinds of claims about these rounds but don't know any gunsmiths who are doing these conversions. Any insight and/or contact information would be appreciated. I also heard that someone is simply reboring barrels out to .358 and necking up the brass to make a legal rifle for Indiana. Any one heard of this?

OK, I got hold of the guy on the BFG website and after several e-mails have got a rifle planned. Things should start happening around the first of the year. I will make a report when I have the rifle in hand.

What are you using for brass? What kind of ballistics are you talking about? Are you having a gun built or modified?
Sorry for all the question, but now you have me curious

I am buying a drop in savage barrel to rebarrel a 7mm wsm. I will buy some formed brass and the dies from the BFG guy. A 358 nosler 225 grain accubond at 25 to 2600 f/s and 200 grainers at 27 to 2800 f/s is my understanding. I just like the idea of the convience of a cartridge gun been hunting with the savage muzzleloaders since 2000. My primary hunting is agricultural fields and 200 to 300 yards is often needed.
