223 or 7.62x39 for eastern coyotes?

For eastern[woodlands,upstate N.Y.]coyotes what the better choice of these 2 [only] :
223 ball or softpoints in Mini-14
           OR
7.62x39 ball or soft points in Mini-30
Those are the two firearms available to me,ditto te ammo.
