Are the bases for a 83 the same as for the 97?

per FA's website, when ordering a scope base, they request that you specify mdl 83 or mdl 97.  take a look at this link and scroll down a bit.

Those two sources make me believe 97s and 83s do require different scope mounts.  But as is mentioned, if any doubt, give FA a call.  My limited experience is the folks over there are extremely polite and very helpful.

The scope bases are different. One will not fit the other.
